Co-chaired by Dr. & Mrs. Michael and Marlene Nissenblatt, Wine & Roses has a 39 year history of uniting our community to honor champions of innovation whose inspiration comes from the heart and whose courage is reflected by the patients they serve.
In the past five years, Night of Wine and Roses has raised over $2.5 million to support the American Cancer Society’s mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. It is one of New Jersey’s premier fundraising events with national notoriety.
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Progress against cancer has triggered a 34% decline in U.S. deaths over the past two decades, which equates to 4.5 million fewer cancer deaths. But we can’t stop there.
On Friday, May 9, 2025, we stepped into the Land of Oz together—and our supporters help, we discovered just how powerful courage, heart, and hope can truly be. Thanks to their incredible generosity and support, our Night of Wine and Roses Gala raised an astounding $570,000 and counting to advance our mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Their compassion and commitment are helping us fund lifesaving research as well as program and services like our Hope Lodge Communities to those navigating their cancer journey.
From the Emerald City decor to the golden generosity shining through the evening, it was a night to remember—and more importantly, a night that will have a lasting impact. We’re reminded that the most powerful magic isn’t found in emerald cities or ruby slippers—it’s found in the kindness of those willing to give.
On behalf of everyone at the American Cancer Society, and the many lives you are helping to touch, thank you for following the yellow brick road with us.

What does it take to outsmart cancer? Research.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) has helped make possible almost every major cancer breakthrough since 1946. Since then, we’ve invested more than $5 billion in cancer research, making us the largest nonprofit funder of cancer research in the United States, outside of the federal government.
Our Discovery Science department remains committed to finding more – and better – ways to improve the quality of life for cancer patients.
Learn MoreFor more than 10 decades, the American Cancer Society has been dedicated to pursuing better outcomes for every cancer, every life. Today, more people are surviving cancer than ever before, but there is still work to be done. Join us, support us, and help us end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
